For our second Swan Story, I’d like to introduce a dear friend and occasional Serpent and the Swan model, Alyce Chen! You might recognise her from many of the older shoots, especially ones that feature her gorgeous snake, Ari! Her infectious laughter and style is integral to many of our photoshoots, and we miss having her around the studio!
What does your S & S piece mean to you?
I love snakes, and also the history and meaning behind the Ouroboros symbolism.
Was your piece a gift from someone or from yourself?
Definitely a treat yourself moment. I work right near Hayley - I peeked into her studio and couldn't help myself! I was really excited to find a local artist making unique and beautiful jewellery.
What’s your favourite thing to do?
At the moment I am enjoying making little bat plushies for my friends to keep my eyes off the screen and hands busy during this lockdown. Aside from this newfound hobby, curling up in bed with a book or a game will always be my go too.
What are your top 3 favourite artists?
This is so hard as it's ever changing! But right now my favourite musical artists would be Run the Jewels and Deftones. Hieronymus Bosch's paintingThe Garden of Earthly Delights is really f*cking weird and I love looking at it!
