Happy International Women’s Day! To me, the day reminds me of the reasons why I create- to be able to wear what I want to, and to design what I want. I want to be in a position to encourage and empower others creatively.

To celebrate, I wanted to honour my Frida, and highlight my role models, those who I look up to and inspire my everyday work. As you might know, musicians are some of those who inspire me the most- it is their creativity and openness to expressing themselves that remind me that art is about straying away from the norm, like how jewellery should be made and worn with no rules.

Musicians like FKA twigs, Patti Smith, Bjork, Peaches, PJ Harvey, and Odette inspire me to break the boundaries of genre, while writers and actresses like Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Margret Atwood, Miriam Margoyles and Helena Bonham-Carter remind me to stay true to myself, and Fashion Icons like Vivenne Westwood and Rei Kawakubo remind me that art is fluid and created to break stereotypes, especially gendered ones.
