SWAN STORIES 003: LUCY CHRISTOPHER

Welcome to Swan Story no. 3, featuring a personal friend and full time badass, Lucy Christopher! Lucy is a restaurateur by day and an eloquent writer by night. She somewhat embodies the spirit of my brand through her writing, attitude and personal style.

What does your Serpent and the Swan piece mean to you?

My bleeding heart ring was an unapologetic gift to myself. It's the last thing I put on before I leave the house, and it’s the last thing I take off before I go to sleep. It’s an undeniable part of me, my aesthetic in the world, and a little reminder that self love always always always allows you to love bigger, better and without fear.

How does work affect your daily life?

I have somehow managed to make my life the best of both worlds, satisfying both the introvert and extrovert within. This balance is the key for me to stay in sync with my rhythm, the more I see of this world the more observant my writing becomes.

Who are your favourite artists?

I cannot possibly narrow my favourite artists down… so I will simply tell you the last song I played, my favourite painting hanging, and the book I am reading. Obviously my favourite jewellery creator is Hayley, nobody makes magic like her!

Leif Vollebekk is on eternal rotation, especially his song “ Transatlantic Flight “ it can quite literally take you to another place.

Dee Smart’s watercolour titled “ Stay “ is a piece I hold very close to my heart. Her work has the ability to bring you closer and break you wide open at the same time.

Loneliness by John T Cacioppo is currently expanding my comprehension of the human connection, what we need and why we need it.

What do you think is the most important thing(s) in your life?

Three things most important to me right now are my family and staying connected to the ones who ground me. My partner. And my purpose on earth.  Our lifestyle at the moment can make it hard to find the light, but these three things are a constant ember to keep me searching for the spark.

What are some of your words to live by?

When someone asks me what the time is…I just say, the time is now. It can be very annoying, but also a reminder that we are here, for now, so make it matter.

Thank you again to Lucy for the interview, and if you’d like to be featured in our next Swan Story, DM me on Instagram @serpentandtheswan!

Stay safe & sane!

Hayley xx
