Like our gold, our sterling silver is sourced here in Australia — and it's recycled. Recycling silver takes a fraction of the energy of digging and refining new metal, and it spares the land, water and tailings that mining leaves behind. Same beauty, same purity, a lighter footprint.
Most affordable "silver" jewellery is base metal under a plated layer just microns thick. A few years of wear and the silver is gone, leaving you with cheap-looking jewellery made in a base metal that irritates your skin.
We don't do plating. Ours is solid sterling — 92.5% pure silver, all the way through — so there's nothing to wear off, and every piece can be polished back to life, repaired, and worn for a lifetime.
Nickel is the most common cause of allergic skin reactions in the world, and it affects far more women than men. When plating wears through, it can expose exactly that kind of base metal. Solid sterling silver has no such core to hide.
And because we never plate, our makers — a team of four women in our Sydney studio — are never exposed to the cyanide baths much of the plating industry has long relied on. Kinder to your skin, and to the hands that make it.
Some of our pieces are cast by Pure Casting, a Sydney casting house with seventy years of craft behind it, and our silver is supplied by Pallion. Keeping casting local means we can watch over quality at every step — and keep the making, and the jobs, here at home.
Silver is a non-ferrous metal, so it keeps its purity through every stage of recycling — recycled silver is chemically identical to newly mined, only far kinder to the planet.
Because it can be reclaimed again and again without losing quality, a piece of silver has the potential to be reimagined time and time again, carrying its story across generations.
We do some of that recycling ourselves. Offcuts never go back to a refinery — we re-melt them at the bench, and sand-cast pieces like the Encrusted Heart and the La Familia Pendant come from earlier castings. Nothing leaves the studio as waste.
That door is open to you, too. Every piece we make is made to order, so you can send us silver you already own — a chain that broke, something inherited, anything sitting unworn in a drawer — and we will melt it down and remake it as any piece on this site.
MADE TO LAST
Plated pieces are made to be replaced. Solid silver is made to be kept — polished back to life, passed down, and, because silver can be reclaimed again and again without losing its quality, remade for generations to come.
