A STORY OF LOVE & FAMILY 💍

A couple months ago my friend Joel approached me with a proposition and a presentation. The goal? To plan the perfect engagement for his girlfriend, complete with the perfect ring. 

Here’s what he said about his experience:

“I wanted a unique engagement ring, and rather than focusing on tradition, I wanted this gesture to capture the journey my partner and I had lived for the past 6 years. Hayley leaned into concepts of love, family loss and future whilst bringing her own unique style to the table. The end result was something that brought tears to my wife's eyes as she immediately recognised her beloved father, her family and future life in the setting.”

He originally went through a myriad of ideas, knowing that he wanted something special and that represented her family with the ring. He originally had an idea to melt down a family ring but when that was not possible, he drew up a PowerPoint to visually note his ideas and research to create the perfect ring. 

Joel chose a variation of my Birthstone Signet Ring, custom–made to incorporate those of his now-wife, Emily’s family. Three little Birthstones lined up, absolutely unique and special to her family to signify the love and affection shared. He chose the Peridot, the stone of August, to represent her and the Tanzanite and Citrine, the stones of March and November respectively to represent her parents.

Always spontaneous, Joel proposed to Emily in the middle of Central Park in New York City and got married the same weekend in Vegas, with the Same Ring on Emily’s hand as a symbol of love and their families joining together.
