Emeralds: A Symbol of Love and Luck 💚

Summer has gone by with the blink of an eye, and it is now May, the month of the Elegant Emerald. A popular gemstone here at Serpent and the Swan, it is a beautiful alternative to the traditional reds and pinks for my label, creating a stark yet bold contrast, reminiscent of the greens of the trees and vines that decorate my studio space.

Emeralds come in a variety of shades, but its quality is determined by its clarity and the shade of green. They symbolise truth and love, as well as an element of power and foresight. The tones of the gem make it perfect for all skin tones and types, but you can wear whatever you want! The emerald is also quite popular and iconic within Hollywood, with Elizabeth Taylor famously wearing emerald pieces to bring out the violet in her eyes to more contemporary pieces like Michelle Yeoh’s Emerald ring in Crazy Rich Asians.

Like many other birthstones, Emeralds can be embedded into most of my birthstone items, but a piece that has recently gained attention is my Emerald twist to the Ruby Rays collection. It casts a beautiful green light instead of the usual pink from the rubies, but is equally gorgeous! Emeralds are an amazing way to add colour and round out your gemstone collections, but are also extremely versatile for everyday wear. Feel free to shoot me a DM or contact me here for more!

Happy Birthday to all the May swans, and I hope you all stay warm!

Much Love,

Hayley xx
