Family Ash Pendants made from their late fathers wedding ring 🔮

Firstly, Happy New Year! I hope 2023 is better than 2022! It's been a rough year for a lot of people, so onwards and upwards.

Secondly, I meant to post these custom pendants I made almost half a year ago, but with the year that I have had it slipped my mind. As you know, making keepsake jewellery with a family members ashes is very special to me. I am so honoured to be entrusted by Bridget and her family to turn her late father’s rose gold wedding ring into a triplet of custom-made pendants. These understated yet unique pendants are their reminder of love, loss, and their familial love.

Through a mutual friend, Bridget came to visit me in the studio as we shared similar styles and she wanted something custom made out of her father’s wedding ring as a symbol of love in her family. Including feedback from her mother and sister, we collaborated in designing the piece- a cute, meaningful pendant made from the molten wedding ring that can be worn as everyday jewellery that they could all wear together. 

She also gave me some ashes to work with, which I incorporated into the pendant via crafting a dome out of the melted wedding ring. This dome created a secret pocket for the ashes, set in resin in the back of the pendant, so that the ashes could sit close to their hearts. The pocket allowed her father to always be at their sides.

Bridget and her sister are represented as twin star-set pink sapphires in the pendant, with a central garnet, representing their mom. Garnet is her mom’s favourite stone and the two dainty pink sapphires complemented the rose gold colour of the pendant perfectly.
