Serpent & the Swan is committed to sustainability, with a circular economy at its heart. Each piece I make tells the story of the hands that made it. Unlike mass-produced jewellery, made with computer aided design, S&S is fully handcrafted, one at a time, here in Sydney.
S&S uses recycled fine metals, Sterling Silver & 9K Solid Gold. I don't do plating, as I design these pieces to be loved, worn everyday, and to become the heirlooms of tomorrow. Even so, the stones I use are ethically sourced from local stone merchants here in Sydney.
Many of the pieces in my custom made portfolio have been forged using existing unworn jewellery. So often our sentimental pieces don't get the wear they deserve, and I am passionate about giving them new life. There's nothing else like watching those metals become liquid in the crucible, and setting them into new shapes. Let me get my hands on them!
Traditional manufacturing often leads to overproduction, which wastes valuable resources. Made-to-order not only eliminates my waste, but it allows me to make tailored changes for you.
Why collect things you don't absolutely adore? When talking about ethical consumption, it is important to consider what you are investing in. Some of us crave uniqueness, and that is what S&S is all about. Whatever your vision is, we can bring it to life together, from small personal changes to brand new custom designs.
I believe there is a bond that forms between Jewellery and its wearer. I offer lifetime repairs on every S&S piece, as I intend for them to be passed down for generations.
