Love letters transcend time, cultures and relationships. Expressions of devotion and sentiment. The earliest reference of a love letter dates back to 5000 + years ago when Princess Rukmini wrote to King Krishna. And, in ancient Egypt, 13th-12th Century BCE, papyrus scrolls were found to contain intimate, poetic expressions. Courtly Love of mediaeval times romanticised secret exchanges sealed with wax. But love letters don't have to be romantic.
I was commissioned to make a set of five love letter pendants for a family of amazing women and daughters. Each is carved and hinged by hand and finished with contrasting gold details. Each envelope also has a love card inside with an enamelled black heart.
